Key features
Spirulina is a microscopic unicellular alga that has lived on Earth since there has been life.
This bluish-green microalgae has a spiral structure, from which the name spirulina derives.
Spirulina’s strong bluish-green color comes from its high leafy green content and exotic blue color pigment.
Spirulina is rich in valuable nutrients, proteins, and vitamins.
Spirulina algae are rich in protein (66%) as well as micronutrients, calcium, magnesium, and iron.
The Aztecs were the first to long notice the leverage effect of spirulina. Since then, even astronauts have relied on their power.
CocoVi Spirulina is grown on a small island in the South China Sea. Freshwater pools are filled with water pumped from deep groundwater, which is carefully filtered before use.
No chemical compounds, pesticides, etc. are used in the process of growing spirulina. Organically certified Spirulina is grown outdoors using only water and sunlight.
The climate is ideal for growing spirulina, as the area has about 2,200 hours of sunshine a year. The production area is surrounded by forest and there is no risk of contamination with chemicals used by other crops. In addition, the quality of the raw materials is analyzed for each batch.
When spirulina are first added to water, it takes about 6 weeks to clean. The crop can then be harvested once a week – using a dense mesh.
Spirulina is rinsed by hand and dried quickly to maximize nutrient density.
Spirulina hard cellulose cell membranes are then digested with a mill designed for the process.
The procedure improves the bioactivity of valuable nutrients in spirulina and converts the valuable nutrients of algae into a form that is easily absorbed by our body.
